How much time do we actually spend with friends and family?

New Scientist magazine is happy to be hosting a special edition for our readers to enjoy.

The issue, entitled ‘The End of Friends’, is dedicated to those who have died, who have left the planet, who are dying, who were murdered, or who are being bullied.

Each week the magazine presents a selection of the best of the world’s social media, including tweets, Facebook posts, Instagram photos, Snapchat videos, Vine videos, and the likes.

The magazine’s editors have chosen these people for special attention, because the time spent with them was a critical factor in their passing.

We asked them to tell us a little about themselves, what their friends did when they were alive, and what they would do when they die.
